Usbong Update (Feb. 25, 2014): Student-built Story Trees Now Viewable/Downloadable, etc.

Hi everyone,
Here's the latest update on Usbong.

You can now view youtube videos,
and download/run the Usbong story trees
that my students have made
for our Japanese Language and
Culture classes (JSP1 and JSP4).

Furthermore, if you've made one yourself,
feel free to upload it there as well.

Tasks accomplished:
+added: settings (store output; default = checked)
--> if unchecked, output folder is deleted once the tree has been traversed until the end AND if end-user returns to main menu before tree completion
--> this is to address the issue where there are too many empty output folders

+fixed: unable to save file (if there is "\", "<", ">", "/", "*", "?", "|"  in the filename)
--> for photoCapture (i.e. camera) and paint
+fixed: delete output folder if empty (usually when the reader exits the tree before completely traversing the entire tree)

+fixed: text-to-speech for textClickableImageDisplay
+added: clickableImageTextDisplay (refer to attachment)
--> image comes first before the text
+added: imageTextDisplay (refer to attachment)
--> image comes first before the text

Tasks working on:
-save progress (save & cont., save & quit)
-store/retrieve variables (for example, if you have a node that asks the person's name, you can then access and use the entered name in the succeeding nodes)
--> Based on end-user requests
--> Possible implementation method
textField~What is your name? {@name=Usbong.getInput()}
textField~Hey, {@name}!

As for the latest source code,
you may check it out at:

Regarding the .apk update,
I'm having trouble accessing Google Play
Developer Console at the moment.
Nevertheless, I shall test it again,
and upload the app tomorrow morning.

Well, this is all for now.

Happy Edsa Day everyone!
Mike
