Usbong Update (May 29, 2014): Digital Storytelling Apps to teach Japanese Language and Culture

Hi everyone,
Here's the latest update on Usbong.
My students have uploaded videos showing their apps,
which have been made using the Usbong platform
for our JSP 1: Japanese Language and Culture class.

They had to choose a topic and a lesson (e.g. 1-5) to teach.
Here are the topics:
1) Home and Family Life
2) Education in Japan
3) Festivals in Japan
4) Art and Music
5) Film and Literature
6) Food and Drinks

Target audience: JSP 1 students

They then needed to create an Android app
that tells a story while teaching the lesson.

Afterwards, they had to upload a video (with voice-over)
of their apps running on an Android device or emulator.

1) ai no kokuhaku

2) atarashii kazoku

3) amnesia

4) disaster dates

You may be able to download their story trees (.utree files)
from the Usbong Community website:

Here's the quick link
.

Feel free to upvote/downvote there on the site too.

We're now updating the guides based on end-user feedback,
particularly from the participants of our recently concluded
Usbong workshop held at CTC313 in Ateneo de Manila University.

Instead of just showing .xml code for the components guide,
we'll put screenshots of how the cells will look like
in Google Drive Spreadsheet.

If you're interested in using Usbong, or if you have
questions/comments/suggestions, etc,
you may get in touch with me, or voice them out via:

This is all for now.

Cheers,
Mike
